The NEW ENGLAND SHOW CHOIR SHOWDOWN (NESCS) is a festival that is produced by the Andover High School Vocal Music Department with assistance from the Andover Vocal Music Association. Under the direction of Mr. Chris Desjardins, over 150 students comprise the vocal music department in three show choirs, one chamber choir, concert choir, a tech crew, a show choir band, and a faculty choir!
In recent years, the Andover Vocal Music Department has seen significant growth and has traveled throughout the US including New York, Chicago, Orlando, Branson, Washington, D.C., and Ohio. The up-and-coming show choirs have won many awards and continue to rise each year with the help of their talented choreographers Beth Kennedy and Darvin Hernandez. They were the recipient of the Glee-Give-A-Note $25,000 award back in 2011 that helped purchase music equipment and a brand new Mac Lab that has paved the way for brand-new Music Production and Music Theory classes at AHS.
